Living in a Robot age

Went to Tesco to pick up washingup liquid. How much washingup liquid is needed when you have a dishwasher? Twice as much as normal, when it's Christmas and New Year it appears.

All their "quick tills"/"basket only", or whatever the name is at Tesco, where unattended, but it appeard this is the new trend. You have to scan out your own groceries!

Do you get a discount if you scan out your own groceries? Or is it just another plot to boost Tesco profits and increase staff cuts? In which case scanning out your own groceries would mean you support the expensive lifestyle of Tesco shareholders at the same time as supporting higher unemployment!?
