Bread and butter

Rumour has it, it has something to do with gravity, butter being heavier than most slices of toast. But does bread really always land butterside down?

If our toaster could butter the toast as well as toast the bread, our breakfast would have landed butterside down. When did the toast start flying out of the toaster? We need a new toaster.
